Archery n. 8

Only hit 2/10 but all the other shots where within a hand-span of the target and both the shots that hit were after I focussed properly. I then tried to maintain a semblance of that focus for the next 4 shots each time and could not quite achieve the same result.

The rubber fletchings still affect things, but by making sure they are always in the same direction, I am trying to minimise their effect.

Overall happy with the progress and still only at 74 shots fired.

Main issues learnt:

  1. There is no avoiding the Hanshin requirement. As with guns and hand-to-hand you can get used to getting in the state faster, but without it everything suffers.
  2. It takes about 10 minutes to fire and check on 10 shots, and about 5 minutes to write this post. Total time 15 minutes, but I gain a different perspective on whatever is/was keeping me more tense than I need to be, usually some frustration regarding something not quite going as flawlessly as I’d prefer. Which of course… c’est la vie.
